Tuesday night boys hoop observations

Here are some quick observations from Tuesday night’s slate of boys basketball games:

Alta overcame a 15-point first half deficit to rally past Provo for the victory. The Hawks have won seven-straight since a season-opening loss at Davis. Alta’s next game is Jan. 2 against No. 1 Bingham. Should be a dandy game.

Northridge picked up its first win of the season by knocking off Syracuse 37-32. The loss was a major blow for the Titans who had started region play 2-0 and look poised to be a contender.

Nate Fakahafua continues to be a double-double machine for Highland as he notched 22 points and 10 rebounds in the Rams’ 63-43 victory over Murray.

Wasatch’s road trip to Emery turned out to be no big deal. The top-ranked team in 3A jumped out to a 42-26 halftime lead and cruised to the 68-48 victory for the quality Spartans.

Skyline had a nightmare first quarter getting outscored 18-0 by Lehi in a game the Pioneers dominated for the 66-47 victory.

Since starting the year 0-5, Granger has now won two straight after picking up a solid 62-57 victory over Spanish Fork.

Trailing Orem 17-12 after the first quarter, Lone Peak overwhelmed the Tigers the rest of the way ultimately prevailing 65-38 at Dixie State College.
