Wednesday night boys hoops observations

Here are some quick observations from Wednesday night’s slate of boys basketball games:

In a battle between a 3A school and a 5A school, Class 3A’s Morgan left no doubt whatsoever against Class 5A’s Hunter. Granted, winless Hunter has struggled mightily so far this season, but still, the Trojans were all over the Wolverines from start to finish to win, 87-58. Casey Evans dropped 30 points on Hunter, and Braden Saunders added 23.

Rivals South Sevier and Richfield squared off inside the Sevier Valley Center in a game to help raise awareness for breast cancer research. The contest, which was preceded by a game between the school’s girls teams, went the way of South Sevier. The Rams, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A, edged 3A’s Richfield, 45-39.

One day after losing its first game of the season, top-ranked Bingham bounced back with a road win over Mountain View. Center Ben Clifford led the way with 14 points, while Nate Girsberger added 12 points and Ty Hannay had 11.

What happened at the game you attended Wednesday night, if you attended one? What do you think about games that are coming up across the state?
