One incredible day of baseball

What more could any baseball fan ask for than three one-run games in one day of prep tournament baseball? That’s what we got Friday at Brown Ballpark at UVSC. For me, watching Cottonwood topple Springville 12-11 in eight innings, then seeing Timpanogos comeback to edge Riverton 6-5, and finally witnessing Bingham’s thrilling eight-inning 2-1 victory over Riverton, was about as good as it gets.
There were clutch hits, clutch defensive plays and solid pitching in every game. It was one of those baseball days, other than the occasional rain and chilly weather, that fans will be talking about for a long time. It was also a day that will last forever in all of these young athletes’ memories. So many came so close to advancing, while so many came so close to having their seasons end.
