Spring madness requires a little help from the fans!!

This next week is what we prep writers refer to as spring madness. In the next 10 days champions will be crowned in softball, baseball, boys soccer, girls golf, track and boys tennis.
In addition to the sanctioned sports, there are a number of club sport tournaments underway as well. I know prep Rugby starts Saturday and High School Lacrosse playoffs began this week. The semi-finals for Lacrosse will be held May 14 for both boys and girls.
Needless to say, it gets a bit crazy around the office as we scramble to find enough people to cover all the games we’d like to feature. For many of these athletes, this is what they’ve worked for – a chance a championship. I can’t tell you how special it feels to document these moments, to be a witness to history, to shine a spotlight on the culmination of years of hard work.
In the upcoming days I will witness personal triumphs and team victories. I will also watch players struggle with watching their dream of a state title slip away.
Every year there are interesting, heart-warming and inspiring stories that don’t make the paper because we are trying to cover so much. (And we’re doing it in the shadow of the Utah Jazz playoffs!)
So with the blog as an option, I will try to bring you some of those moments, as I’m sure my colleagues will also. Unfortunately, we can’t be everywhere, so my plea is that you help us recognize these players, these coaches, these triumphs. Let us know what you see that moves or inspires you. Let us know what breaks your heart or who came through when the game was on the line. All our e-mails are on the web and the bottoms of the story, or you can post here.
I once discussed with my father that there are likely many heroic acts that go unknown because there wasn’t a witness. And while going unreported doesn’t detract from the act itself, when you share it, it can have an impact far beyond those who actually witnessed it.
So head to a ballpark near you and let us know what you see!
