What a game

You had to be at the Dee Events Center to truly appreciate how incredible the energy was in Lone Peak’s double overtime win over Davis. Every possession was tense from the opening tip-off in front of an estimated 10,000 fans at the Dee Events Center. It wasn’t the best played game ever, but it was definitely one of the most intense atmospheres I’ve witnessed in my many years covering high school sports. It was only fitting that Tyler Haws, the front runner to be named Mr. Basketball, came up with the game-winning shot with two seconds remaining. Many believe Friday’s Lone Peak-Davis game was the “real” championship, and in terms of atmosphere it probably was.
