Fantasy Basketball 2008

With last week’ s realignment proposal by the UHSAA, even if only half the teams are juggled around as suggested it’s going to drastically change the complexion of state tournaments. These changes have both positive and negative merits, and further reiterate that you can’t please everyone.

For entertainment purposes only, for this year’s upcoming boys basketball state tournament I say we eliminate classifications all together. Instead lets take the Deseret Morning News top 20, add 12 teams, and then seed them 1 through 32. From there, we’ll have a single elimination tournament to crown the true state champion.

I know this will never happen, but it would be incredibly entertaining. Who would your Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final 4 and eventual champion be?
